The Helicopter Company Signs MoU with Riyadh Municipality for Three New Landing Sites
The new helicopter landing sites will enhance connectivity, diversify investment opportunities, and support sustainable urban development in Riyadh.
Riyadh, 2 June 2024 – The Helicopter Company (THC), a fully owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund and the Kingdom's premier commercial helicopter operator, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Riyadh Municipality, marking a significant step forward in urban air mobility in the Kingdom.
Under this agreement, THC will facilitate the establishment of three new helicopter landing sites, expanding connectivity, and improving access to key locations within Riyadh. This effort aligns with the Kingdom’s aviation objectives to strengthen partnerships between the private and public sector, expand domestic air connectivity, and support Riyadh’s development as a major aviation hub.
The new sites—covering a total area of 28,500 square meters—will be located in Diriyah, the Edge of the World, and Ushaiqer. These strategically positioned sites will enhance visitor experiences by improving access to major tourist destinations while contributing to the country’s long-term urban development plans.
This partnership underscores THC’s commitment to supporting sustainable urban development and highlights its key role in advancing Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which focuses on boosting economic diversification and growth of sectors including tourism, and investment.
